
Terms of Reference
| Purpose: |
To foster the development of a Regional Heart Health Coalition to reduce
the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in the Grenfell Region |
| Process: |
To increase awareness and activities related to heart health, using a
community capacity building approach and professional and public education.
To utilize the Northern Heart Health Coalition to implement programs as
developed by the Newfoundland and Labrador Heart Health Program. |
| Composition: |
This coalition may include existing Heart Health Projects, community agencies,
public health units, local government, service groups, local businesses,
and community volunteers. |
| Reporting: |
Minutes from each meeting will be taken by a designated recorder and kept
on file. A copy will be forwarded to each member. |
| Meetings: |
There will be quarterly meetings with at least one face-to-face meeting
annually. |
| Terms of Office: |
Position of Chairperson will be held for a two-year period. Position of
secretary/recorder will rotate. |
| Finances: |
Coalition funding will be administered by the Accounting Department of
G.R.H.S. with monthly statements to the chairperson. Chairpersons will have
signing authority. |
